August 1, 2024 - Hayhoe Trail opens in Delhi Township, MI

August 1, 2024 - Ribbon Cutting celebrating the opening of Hayhoe Trail in Delhi Township, MI, extending south to College Road.

The Hayhoe Trail opened in Mason on August 1, 2024. Pictured above is the ribbon cutting celebration. We applaud FLRT Board member and donor Dick (George) and wife Lisa Hayhoe for their $200,000 donation. Funding also included grants from Ingham County and Delhi Township. Dick has worked for years to make this possible!

The event was covered by local television WILX and Fox47. The trail adds a safe route along the street corridor and gives people a new way to get active and connect with local businesses via non-motorized trails.

What’s next? The trail extends south to College Road where Delhi Twp. ends. The final connector leg to Mason (in front of Dart Container) will be led by Ingham County. The County plans to apply for a grant this fall for the final dollars beyond raised funds to complete the connection. We hope for construction to begin in 2026.
