Is there a map of the Lansing Region’s trails?

Yes! Thanks to funding and partnership with Tri-County Regional Planning Commission, there is a an interactive regional trail map available here. Because the trails are continuously being expanded, the map is also continuously being updated.

What is the Friends of the Lansing Regional Trails (FLRT)?

FLRT is certified Michigan non -profit 501(c)3 Federal status comprised of volunteers that supports and raises awareness for a safe, clean and thoughtfully expanded trail system in the Mid-Michigan area.

We will accomplish our mission through the following key activities:

  • Engage members in meaningful regional trail activity

  • Raise funds through public and private donations

  • Unite organizations with similar interests to cross promote regional trail activity

  • Promote trail safety, maintenance and expansion

  • Raise awareness of the health and wellness benefits of using the Lansing Regional Trails

  • Promote the community and economic value that the Regional Trails provide

What is the Trail Ambassador Program?

The Trail Ambassador Program is a group of volunteers that monitor trails, coordinate trail clean-up events, and promote the safe, responsible use of the trail system. Click here if you would like to be involved in the Trail Ambassador Program.

What does FLRT do with membership dues and donations?

We continue to raise money through individuals and corporate gifts. As per our mission, we strive to raise funds annually for things like maintenance, signage, increased safety, and increased funding of the Regional Trails. Also, we will need funds for insurance, postage, and events.

How can I get involved?

By paying annual membership dues of $25 or more you can attend our annual membership meeting, taking place in July of each year, and more immediately you may join a committee. Our board has three working committees: Marketing/Communications; Membership; and Development. All these committees are chaired by board members, but we hope to have strong membership participation from you, our members!
